No, we are. Has someone told you that you’re different? Or maybe worse, a freak? It may be about your hobby, your way of talking, or even the person you like. If you feel hurt, then it’s normal. But, have you asked a question like, “Why?”

Why the things you like was considered as weird, but others were not?

Why if you like shopping, doing sport or hanging out with your friends in the mall, then it’s cool. But, if you like watching anime or playing games in your middle-aged, then people would be frowned and confused?

Why you must hide your true self like it’s a crime or a sin?

The answer is no, you don’t have to do that.

We can spend our lives letting the world tell us who we are. Sane or insane. Heroes or victims. Or we can decide for ourselves. And maybe it’s our job to invent something better.”

Chuck Palahniuk, a novelist

It’s the same with a social culture in every country. If you live in Western Europe, it may be okay to kiss your friend in their cheek, but if you do it in Asia, it will be really weird.

But, who has made that kind of rule?

The answer is simple, the majority.

People are really weird. They want to be different from others, but not quite so different.

It’s the same with your hobby, your way of dressing or anything that may seem weird to others. Weird is a standard, a relative value. If you imitate others just because you want to be accepted, then you will be just like everyone. You won’t have an identity. You will become a nobody.

If the majority doesn’t see your value as the way you see it, then search for someone who holds the same value as you.

You won’t be a weirdo, when everyone around you also a weirdo.

After all, Everyone is a freak, in their own way. So be yourself.
